Xtmu Cable, Power Cable, 600V, Cu/XLPE/PVC/PVC (ICEA S-95-658)
Xtmu Cable is a 600V power cable compliant with ICEA S-95-658 standard, featuring a four-layer structure of copper (Cu) conductor, XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation, inner PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sheath, and outer PVC sheath (Cu/XLPE/PVC/PVC). It integrates multiple advantages such as high-efficiency conductivity, heat resistance stability, mechanical protection, and environmental adaptability, widely used in industrial, commercial, and civil low-voltage distribution systems.
In terms of structure, the cable uses high-purity copper as the conductor with a purity of over 99.95%. After multi-strand stranding, it not only has excellent conductivity (conductivity ≥58MS/m) but also good flexibility, facilitating laying in complex environments. The conductor is wrapped with an XLPE insulation layer, which forms a three-dimensional network molecular structure through cross-linking reaction. It allows a long-term operating temperature of up to 90°C and can withstand 250°C during short circuits (within 5 seconds), effectively preventing insulation aging due to overheating. Outside the XLPE insulation is an inner PVC sheath, mainly playing a buffering and isolating role to protect the insulation layer from extrusion damage by the outer sheath; the outermost layer is an outer PVC sheath, added with flame retardants, antioxidants, and UV stabilizers. It has properties such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and UV resistance, capable of resisting mechanical impact, moisture, chemicals, and direct sunlight, providing double sheath protection for the cable.
In terms of performance parameters, the cable has a rated voltage of 600V, suitable for low-voltage distribution systems with AC 50Hz/60Hz, and meets the strict requirements of ICEA S-95-658 standard for insulation resistance, dielectric loss, flame retardancy, and other indicators. Its insulation resistance is ≥1000MΩ·km, and the dielectric loss tangent (tanδ) is ≤0.005, ensuring extremely low energy loss during power transmission. The current-carrying capacity varies with conductor specifications. Taking common 10AWG to 4/0AWG as examples, the current-carrying capacity ranges from 40A to 210A when laid in air, meeting the power needs from small and medium-sized equipment to medium industrial loads. In terms of mechanical properties, the minimum bending radius of the cable is 10 times the outer diameter (for fixed laying), adapting to installation in narrow spaces; the outer PVC sheath has a tensile strength of ≥12MPa and an elongation of ≥150%, withstanding stretching, extrusion, and friction during laying.
In application scenarios, Xtmu Cable, with the enhanced protection of double PVC sheaths, performs well in various environments: in industrial fields, it is often used for power distribution of motors and control cabinets in factory workshops, resisting oil pollution and dust erosion; in commercial buildings, as the main line of lighting and air conditioning systems in shopping malls and hotels, its flame retardancy meets the safety requirements of public places; in civil scenarios, it is suitable for damp areas such as strong electric wells and underground garages in high-rise buildings, and the inner PVC sheath can further block moisture to protect the XLPE insulation layer. In addition, as it complies with ICEA S-95-658 standard, the cable can also be used in low-voltage distribution projects in North America and other regions, adapting to international engineering needs.
In terms of installation and maintenance, the cable supports various laying methods such as 桥架,pipe laying, and direct burial. During installation, excessive bending or contact with sharp objects should be avoided to prevent sheath damage. Terminal connections require copper joints of appropriate specifications, ensuring good conductivity through crimping, and 做好密封处理 to prevent moisture intrusion. After laying, insulation resistance testing and voltage withstand testing (applying 2.5 times the rated voltage for 5 minutes without breakdown) must be conducted to verify performance compliance. In daily maintenance, regularly check whether the outer sheath has cracks, bulges, or signs of aging, and repair in time if problems are found; for cables exposed to sunlight, sunshades can be added to delay sheath aging and extend service life.
In summary, Xtmu Cable (600V, Cu/XLPE/PVC/PVC), through the collaborative design of copper conductor, XLPE insulation, and double PVC sheaths, achieves a balance of efficient transmission, safety protection, and environmental adaptability while meeting ICEA S-95-658 standard. It is a preferred cable with both reliability and compliance in low-voltage distribution systems, providing stable guarantee for various power transmission scenarios.
