Implementation Standard: 60227 IEC 52 is the "identity" of the cable, clearly indicating that it follows the specifications for Category 52 cables in the IEC 60227 standard formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This standard strictly regulates the conductor structure, insulation thickness, sheath performance, testing methods, etc., of the cable. For example, it requires that the temperature resistance level of the Insulation Material is not lower than 70°C, and the tensile strength of the sheath material is not less than 12MPa, ensuring that the product has a unified quality benchmark worldwide.
Model Interpretation:
The "R" in "RVV" stands for "flexible structure", meaning that the conductor is made of stranded multiple fine Copper Wires (usually 19 strands of copper wires with a diameter of 0.23mm) instead of a single solid copper rod. This structure allows the bending radius of the cable to be as low as 4 times the cable diameter (for static laying) or 6 times (for dynamic bending), which is much better than that of Solid Wires (more than 10 times). It is especially suitable for scenarios such as threading through narrow spaces, internal bending of equipment, or frequent movement.
"VV" respectively refers to "PVC Insulation" and "PVC Sheath", clarifying the material types of insulation and sheath, balancing electrical performance and cost-effectiveness.
"Zr" is the symbol of "Flame Retardant", indicating that the cable has passed flame retardant tests such as IEC 60332-1-2: in the vertical burning test, the flame duration does not exceed 60 seconds, and the drips do not ignite the underlying padding, providing additional safety guarantees for densely populated places such as homes and offices.
Voltage and Conductor Specifications:
The rated voltage of 300V is determined based on its insulation thickness (≥0.6mm) and voltage resistance performance. It is suitable for circuits below AC 300V (such as power connections for household appliances and small equipment) and cannot be used in industrial high-voltage scenarios of 380V and above.
The 2×0.75 mm² two-core structure is its core feature: the two conductors serve as the live wire (L) and neutral wire (N) respectively, meeting the power supply needs of single-phase equipment. The cross-sectional area of 0.75mm² corresponds to a conductor diameter of approximately 1.0mm (about 2.5mm after including the insulation layer). The DC resistance of a single conductor is ≤23.7Ω/km (at 20°C), ensuring current transmission efficiency. Under the conditions of an ambient temperature of 30°C and open laying, the continuous current-carrying capacity can reach 8A, corresponding to a power of about 1.7kW, which is sufficient to drive common household appliances such as washing machines and microwave ovens.
Conductor: High-purity electrolytic copper with a purity of ≥99.95% is used, made through wire drawing and stranding processes. High-purity copper ensures low resistance (reducing heat loss), and multi-strand stranding improves flexibility through the "bundle stranding + compound stranding" process. First, 19 strands of fine copper wires are bundled and stranded clockwise, then the whole is stranded counterclockwise to offset the single-strand stress and avoid breakage during bending. In addition, the surface of the Copper Conductor is annealed to eliminate work hardening and further enhance flexibility.
Insulation Layer: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a temperature resistance of 70°C is selected, which is coated on the conductor through an extrusion process, with uniform thickness and no bubbles or pinholes. The volume resistivity of PVC insulation is ≥1×10¹³Ω·cm (at 20°C), and the breakdown field strength is ≥20kV/mm, which can effectively isolate the conductor from the outside world and prevent electric leakage. To facilitate the distinction between live wire and neutral wire, the insulation layer usually adopts a two-color design (such as brown + blue), in line with international wiring specifications.
Sheath Layer: It is also made of PVC material, but with the addition of flame retardants (such as antimony trioxide) and antioxidants to improve flame retardancy and aging resistance. The sheath wraps the two Insulated Wire cores into one through an extrusion process, with a thickness of ≥0.8mm, and forms a natural separation between the two cores to avoid friction damage between the wire cores. The surface of the sheath is smooth, printed with model, specification, standard number and other marks (such as "60227 IEC 52 RVV Zr 300V 2×0.75"), which is convenient for traceability and identification.
Process Quality Control: The production process undergoes multiple inspections: conductor resistance test (to ensure conductivity), insulation spark test (to detect pinholes), voltage resistance test (applying 2000V voltage for 1 minute without breakdown), flame retardancy test (self-extinguishing time after open flame combustion), etc. The final product must meet all the requirements of IEC 60227 before leaving the factory.
Household Appliances Field: As the power leads for refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and other equipment, they need to be bent frequently (such as the cable stretching of vacuum cleaners) or hidden in narrow spaces (such as the back of washing machines). Its flexibility can reduce cable damage; the flame retardancy reduces the risk of fire caused by equipment short circuits.
Power Tools Field: The power cords of electric drills, angle grinders and other tools need to move flexibly with the operation. The multi-strand conductor structure can withstand repeated bending (≥2000 bending tests without breaking); the 300V voltage and 0.75mm² current-carrying capacity are suitable for the power requirements of the tools (usually ≤1.5kW).
Office and Commercial Scenarios: The Internal Wiring or external connecting wires of printers and projectors need to pass through the complex structure inside the equipment. The flexible design is convenient for installation; the flame retardant characteristics meet the fire protection specifications of office places.
Lighting and Small Equipment: The power cords of LED light strips and small surveillance cameras often need to be concealed along walls and ceilings. The small diameter (about 5mm) and flexibility make them easy to hide; the two-core structure meets the simple circuit requirements of single-phase lighting.
Coiling Form: It is coiled on a hard paper reel, with each reel usually 100 meters long (50 meters and 200 meters can be customized). The diameter of the paper reel depends on the length (100 meters corresponds to a diameter of about 30cm), with a 5cm diameter hole reserved in the center, which is convenient for fixing on the pay-off rack and suitable for continuous pay-off during batch laying.
Outer Protection: Each reel of cable is wrapped with moisture-proof kraft paper and then covered with a layer of polyethylene film to prevent moisture, dust contamination or scratch of the sheath by sharp objects during transportation. The surface of the film is printed with product information (model, specification, length, batch number, manufacturer) for quick identification.
Marking and Accessories: A label is attached to the side of the paper reel, indicating product parameters, production date, quality inspection report number and manufacturer's contact information; each batch of goods is accompanied by a "Product Qualification Certificate" and "Inspection Report", including key data such as conductor resistance, insulation resistance, and flame retardant test, for customer acceptance.
Transportation Requirements:
Avoid violent collision, extrusion or throwing to prevent the paper reel from deforming and causing cable distortion and sheath damage.
Transport vehicles must be covered with tarpaulins to prevent sun exposure and rain (PVC materials are prone to aging when exposed to ultraviolet rays for a long time, and moisture may affect insulation performance).
Use forklifts or cranes for loading and unloading. It is strictly forbidden to directly drag the cable sheath to avoid sheath wear.
Storage Conditions:
It should be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse, away from fire sources, heat sources (distance from heat sources such as radiators ≥1 meter) and corrosive substances (such as acid and alkali solutions).
The storage temperature should be controlled at -15°C ~ 35°C, and the relative humidity ≤75% to prevent PVC from becoming brittle at low temperatures or accelerating aging at high temperatures.
The cables should be placed flat on pallets, with a stacking height not exceeding 3 layers, to avoid deformation of the bottom paper reel due to pressure; when stored for more than 6 months, they should be turned over regularly to prevent local deformation caused by long-term standing.
Sample Policy: New customers can apply for 1~2 meters of samples for free (freight at their own expense). The samples are completely consistent with bulk products in terms of materials and processes, and are accompanied by a simple test report. Customers can test the flexibility, flame retardancy (such as burning the sheath with a lighter for a short time to observe whether it self-extinguishes) and insulation performance (testing conductivity with a multimeter) through samples.
Customization Options:
Length customization: Supports non-standard lengths such as 50 meters and 200 meters to meet the dosage requirements of different projects.
Color customization: The sheath can be customized to black, white, gray, etc., and the color of the insulation layer can be adjusted according to customer requirements (such as yellow-green 双色 Ground Wire, which needs to be specified separately).
Certification customization: In addition to IEC standards, international certifications such as CE and UL can be provided according to customer needs (corresponding testing procedures need to be added, with a cycle of about 1~2 weeks).
Quality Assurance: The product warranty period is 2 years (from the date of delivery). Under normal use conditions (in line with rated voltage and temperature range), if there are non-human damages such as conductor breakage, insulation breakdown, and sheath cracking, the manufacturer can replace or return the product for free.
Technical Support: Provide professional wiring guidance, such as current-carrying capacity calculation (adjusted according to ambient temperature and laying method), bending radius requirements, flame retardant grade adaptation scenarios, etc., to help customers select models reasonably.
Problem Response: After receiving customer feedback, a solution will be given within 24 hours; if on-site inspection is required, technical personnel will be arranged to arrive within 48 hours (limited to major domestic cities).
Return and Exchange Policy: Non-customized products can be returned or exchanged without reason within 7 days if they are unopened and do not affect secondary sales (customers bear the round-trip freight); for returns and exchanges caused by product quality problems, the freight will be borne by the manufacturer.
